Jayden Isaiah Mejia, 15, drowned around 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17 at a pool in the 8700 block of Mylander Lane, according to Baltimore Police.

In the wake of his unexpected death, a community has come together to support his family to help pay for funeral expenses, according to a GoFundMe launched by Pauline Santos.

"Jayden was a warm, kind and bright soul who lit up the room with his vibrant energy and made his family and friends laugh with his silly and joking demeanor," Santos wrote on the GoFundMe page.

Details surrounding what caused Jayden to drown are still unclear.

"He was intelligent and inquisitive, caring and charismatic. We'll never see our baby's infectious smile or hear his precious voice ever again", continued Santos.
